Framework Description
NRS's Safety Case Support & Peer Review Services Framework Agreement provides specialist safety case work for decommissioning at the Dounreay site. It has two lots: Lot 1, Safety Case Support Services, and Lot 2, Peer Review Services. Let on a 2+1+1 basis with a cumulative value of £8 million, it has used both extension years and ends on 9 March 2027.
Context & Use Case
NRS uses the framework to commission safety case authoring and support, and independent peer review of safety cases, as decommissioning work changes the hazards on its sites. Appointees cover safety reporting, radiation and fire assessments and site compliance reviews. Keeping authoring and peer review in separate lots helps NRS keep each review independent of the team that wrote the case.
