Major Permissions - Client Technical Support DPS

Live

Framework Description

Nuclear Waste Services' Major Permissions – Client Technical Support DPS helps client teams securing major permissions, such as Development Consent Orders (DCOs) and Environmental Permits (EPs), by giving them access to assurance services, specialist skills and subject matter experts. It is a single-lot DPS, each contract awarded through it is capped at £1 million, and it runs until 14 April 2034.

Context & Use Case

NWS uses the DPS to strengthen its own team on permitting work rather than handing the whole task to one partner. The Major Permissions Delivery Partner (MPDP) and its key partners are excluded, which keeps the DPS a separate source of assurance and expertise. Requirements are competed among admitted suppliers as they arise.

Scope of Services

Assurance services on regulatory compliance Specialist skills for DCO and EP preparation and submission Subject matter experts for strategic and technical advice Project management and delivery assurance

Lots

Single lot

Who Can Apply

Planning, environmental and assurance consultancies, and specialist subject matter experts, with nuclear or major infrastructure permitting experience. It is a live DPS, so suppliers can apply at any time. The MPDP and its key partners cannot join.

Buyer Benefits

NWS can add specialists to its own team quickly for a specific permitting task, and get independent assurance on work prepared by others. The £1 million cap per contract keeps commissions focused, and a growing pool of admitted experts gives choice when niche knowledge is needed.

Next Steps

Find the DPS in the NDA's Atamis system under reference C16311 and complete the application, using notice 008087-2024 on the framework page for background. Show permitting experience such as DCO examinations, environmental permit applications or regulator-facing assurance roles. Check that you are not part of the MPDP team or its key partners before you apply.
