Framework Description
Broadcasting Equipment and Integration Services is an NWUPC framework for audio, vision and lighting equipment and its integration into university facilities. It is a fixed-term agreement, not a DPS, running until 30 June 2027 with no extension. Two lots separate equipment supply from integration and associated services, so buyers can purchase kit alone or commission a complete installed system. This framework is used by NWUPC, SUPC and APUC.
Context & Use Case
Universities use it to equip media teaching spaces, studios, lecture capture and live streaming set-ups, and event venues. Buyers can purchase cameras, microphones, mixers and lighting outright, or ask a supplier to design and integrate a full system with ongoing technical support, which suits institutions without in-house broadcast engineering teams.

Who Can Apply
It suits broadcast equipment distributors, AV and broadcast systems integrators, and lighting specialists with education or media experience. Applications for this framework are closed, so new suppliers cannot join until NWUPC re-tenders it, which on current dates would be around 30 June 2027.
Buyer Benefits
Media and broadcast facilities are expensive and specialist, so universities want suppliers who understand both the equipment and how to integrate it. The two-lot structure lets them buy at framework prices or hand a whole studio project to an integrator, with support arranged under the same agreement.
Next Steps
Appointed suppliers should build links with media departments and estates teams to win upcoming studio and streaming projects. Others should review the two lots on the NWUPC framework page, decide whether to bid for equipment, integration or both, and prepare studio and lecture capture case studies for the re-tender before 30 June 2027.
