Cleaning Solutions

Live

Framework Description

Cleaning Solutions is an NWUPC framework for cleaning and janitorial products and related services, organised into seven lots. It runs until 30 April 2027 with no extension. The lots span chemicals, refuse sacks, paper hygiene, consumables (with separate lots for Great Britain and the British Isles, and for Northern Ireland), cleaning equipment and recycling bins. This framework is used by NWUPC, SUPC, Crescent Purchasing and APUC.

Context & Use Case

Universities, colleges and other members use it to keep in-house cleaning teams supplied, from chemicals and paper products to cleaning machines and their maintenance. Estates teams can also source recycling bins and street furniture for campuses. A separate Northern Ireland consumables lot means members there have suppliers set up to deliver locally.

Scope of Services

Lot 1: Cleaning chemicals and janitorial supplies Lot 2: Refuse sacks Lot 3: Paper hygiene products Lot 4: Cleaning consumables (GB and British Isles) Lot 5: Cleaning consumables (Northern Ireland) Lot 6: Cleaning equipment supply and maintenance Lot 7: Recycling bins and street furniture

Lots

Lot 1 Cleaning Chemicals & Janitorial Supplies; Lot 2 Refuse Sacks; Lot 3 Paper Hygiene Products; Lot 4 Cleaning Consumables (GB & British Isles); Lot 5 Cleaning Consumables (Northern Ireland); Lot 6 Cleaning Equipment Supply & Maintenance; Lot 7 Recycling Bins & Street Furniture

Who Can Apply

It suits janitorial distributors, paper hygiene and chemical manufacturers, cleaning machine suppliers and maintainers, and street furniture providers. Applications for this framework are closed. Suppliers not appointed should prepare for the re-tender expected around 30 April 2027, choosing the lots that match their range and delivery coverage.

Buyer Benefits

Members can source routine cleaning supplies and equipment through one agreement with lot-specific suppliers, which simplifies ordering and keeps prices consistent. Equipment maintenance under Lot 6 reduces machine downtime, and the recycling bins lot supports campus waste and sustainability goals.

Next Steps

The term ends on 30 April 2027, so a re-tender is likely within months. Check the NWUPC framework page for the lot structure, decide which lots you can serve, and prepare product data, sustainability credentials, delivery coverage for Great Britain or Northern Ireland, and education customer references. Appointed suppliers should log performance data to reuse in their bid.

How Athena Can Help

With seven lots and a re-tender approaching, choosing where to bid is the first decision. Athena's bid/no-bid tools help you pick the lots worth pursuing, and our framework application writers prepare the selection questions, product evidence and sustainability policies for each one.

Our bid pricing and compliance checks then make sure your rates are competitive across large product baskets and that no part of the submission fails on a technicality or a missing certificate.
