Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Live

Framework Description

The Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) framework, reference EFM3169 CPC, is let by Crescent Purchasing Consortium and gives member institutions access to a range of PPE through 15 approved vendors. It is a single-lot framework rather than a DPS, closed to new applications, and it runs until 9 May 2027 with no extension. It is separate from NWUPC's broader PPE, Work & Sports Wear agreement. This framework is used by Crescent Purchasing, NWUPC and SUPC.

Context & Use Case

Universities use it to equip estates, cleaning, security, laboratory and grounds staff with the protective equipment their roles need. Health and safety and departmental budget holders place repeat orders for gloves, eye protection, hi-vis and similar items, and with 15 vendors on the agreement they can compare offers or choose a supplier that can deliver quickly.

Who Can Apply

Suits PPE manufacturers and distributors with compliant, certified product ranges and experience supplying public sector or education customers. The 15 vendors are fixed for the term, so new suppliers cannot join until the re-tender before 9 May 2027.

Buyer Benefits

PPE must meet safety standards, and buyers carry the risk if it does not. A framework of vetted vendors gives them confidence in product compliance and traceability, as well as competitive pricing, which matters across many small, frequent orders. Having 15 vendors also protects supply if one runs short of stock.

Next Steps

The 15 appointed vendors should focus on fast delivery, product compliance documentation and account management with member institutions. Other suppliers should note the 9 May 2027 end with no extension and expect a re-tender in late 2026 or early 2027. Check the framework page and get product certification and supply chain evidence ready.
