Framework Description

Orbit Group is procuring a framework, through the open procedure, for the supply, design, manufacture, delivery and hire of building materials, associated products, equipment and construction fuel; it will be closed to new applications once awarded. It is split into 30 lots and can be used by Orbit and other eligible members of its Authority Group. The framework is expected to run for four years from March 2027 to 28 February 2031, with an estimated value of £85.7 million.

Context & Use Case

Orbit is a registered provider of social housing with a large stock of homes across England. Materials bought through the framework will supply new build, refurbishment, planned works, void turnarounds and repairs. Consolidating supply into one multi-lot framework helps Orbit manage pricing consistency, supply chain risk and compliance across its construction and maintenance programmes.

Who Can Apply

Manufacturers, merchants, distributors and hire companies supplying building materials, components, equipment or fuel in the Midlands or East. The 30-lot structure lets specialists bid only for their categories. Orbit published the tender notice on 8 October 2026, so suppliers can tender now; once awarded, applications for the framework will be closed until 2031.

Buyer Benefits

Orbit wants consistent prices and reliable delivery across many sites and types of work. A 30-lot framework lets it buy from specialists in each product category while keeping a single route to market, and the four-year term supports supplier investment in stock and logistics for its programmes.
