Major Construction Works Framework
Framework Description
Pagabo's Major Construction Works Framework, with Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear NHS Foundation Trust as contracting authority, gives public bodies a route to 25 pre-approved contractors nationally for construction projects of £5 million and above, across three lots. It ends on 19 October 2026 and is being replaced by the National Framework for Major Works 2026. Suppliers can no longer join it.
Context & Use Case
Public bodies used the framework for new schools, hospitals and offices, major refurbishments and infrastructure, together with the site preparation and M&E work that goes with them, appointing contractors by further competition or direct award. Projects already called off continue under their own contracts, but new major schemes through Pagabo will go to the successor framework.

Nobody can join this framework now. Main contractors interested in Pagabo's major works pipeline should look at its successor, the National Framework for Major Works 2026, and check Pagabo's upcoming frameworks page for renewal dates and how to register interest.

For buyers, this framework offered vetted main contractors and a quick route to award on large schemes, with call-off routes and contract terms already set up. Those same benefits are now expected to sit with the successor framework, which is where new projects will be placed.
