Small Works DPS

Live

Framework Description

Pagabo's Small Works DPS helps public and private sector clients across the UK find and appoint trades businesses for small construction projects worth up to £3 million. It is a single-lot dynamic purchasing system, open to new suppliers throughout its term, and runs until 28 February 2029. Clients run competitions among admitted suppliers, so a trades firm can start winning work soon after it is accepted.

Context & Use Case

Public bodies and private clients use the DPS for jobs where a full tender would be out of proportion: building repairs, electrical and plumbing work, roofing, decoration, joinery, groundworks and small fit-outs. Each project is run as a competition among the admitted firms, which keeps the process short for both client and contractor.

Who Can Apply

Trades businesses and contractors of any size, from small local firms to larger contractors. As a live DPS, it accepts applications at any time, which makes it a practical first public sector route for SMEs with a solid record on projects up to £3 million.

Buyer Benefits

Clients can run a quick, compliant competition among vetted trades firms without the overhead of a full tender. Continuous entry keeps the pool fresh, brings in local firms over time, and keeps prices competitive. A £3 million cap means the DPS can cover everything from a single repair to a modest new building.

Next Steps

Apply through the Small Works DPS page on Pagabo's site. Have insurance certificates, health and safety policies, trade accreditations and a few recent project references ready. Once admitted, respond quickly to competitions in your trade and area, as small works clients often need to move fast.

How Athena Can Help

For trades businesses, this DPS can be the first step into public sector work. Athena can complete and check your application, including the policies and certificates it asks for, through our help joining a DPS.

After that, our small works bid support helps you build quick, reusable responses and prices, and our first public contract guidance explains how public competitions are scored so you can win them, even against more established local competitors.
