Social Housing Emerging Disruptors (4) - Housing Management & Retrofit Solutions

Live

Framework Description

SHED 4, the fourth Social Housing Emerging Disruptors framework from Procurement for Housing, brings innovative suppliers in housing management, retrofit and compliance to social landlords. It covers smart building technologies, digital tenant engagement, energy efficiency systems and advanced construction methods. PfH refreshes the SHED series annually to keep it current, and this round runs until 20 January 2028.

Context & Use Case

Landlords use it when they want new approaches to running and improving homes: sensors and smart building kit for compliance, digital channels for engaging tenants, energy efficiency systems for retrofit, or newer construction methods. It gives a compliant route to suppliers that might be too new or small to win through a conventional tender.

Who Can Apply

Suits innovative firms with products for housing management, retrofit or compliance, including SMEs and start-ups with early housing sector results. It is closed to new applications at present; as PfH refreshes SHED annually, check the framework page for when the next refresh or round opens.

Buyer Benefits

Buyers get vetted innovators without writing a detailed specification for something new. That lowers the risk of a pilot and gives compliance and retrofit teams a quick way to test smart building and energy products, while the annual refresh keeps the supplier pool current.

Next Steps

Appointed suppliers should target landlords with retrofit or compliance pressures and offer short pilots with clear measures of success. Others should check the PfH SHED 4 page for the next refresh and, in the meantime, build a portfolio of housing results: energy saved, compliance issues found, tenant engagement rates. The framework ends on 20 January 2028.

How Athena Can Help

Getting onto a SHED round depends on showing innovation and proof together. Athena's framework entry support times your application to the next refresh and builds the narrative and evidence around your pilot results.

For appointed SHED 4 suppliers, our win themes and bid writing turn a promising product into a winning call-off response, and Athena's public procurement bidding support helps you decide which landlord opportunities to chase first and how to price a pilot without losing money.
