Framework Description
Active Fire Protection is one of five lots in South East Consortium's Fire Safety Works Framework, awarded on 23 January 2026. It covers installing, maintaining and testing fire alarms, emergency lighting and fire extinguishers in communal areas and individual homes. The lot runs until 22 January 2030 and is not a Dynamic Purchasing System.
Context & Use Case
Public sector landlords and other building owners use it to keep detection and alert systems compliant across their estates, whether installing new alarm systems in a block, servicing emergency lighting or carrying out reactive repairs. Testing and certification are included, and buyers call off by direct award or mini-competition among the appointed contractors.
Scope of Services
Fire alarm system installation Emergency lighting installation and maintenance Fire extinguisher supply, servicing and inspection Testing and certification Reactive repairs to active fire protection systems
Lots
Single lot (Active Fire Protection, within the five-lot Fire Safety Works Framework)
Who Can Apply
Suits fire alarm and emergency lighting contractors with third-party accreditation such as BAFE, working across residential and non-residential public buildings. The lot was awarded in January 2026 and applications are closed; others can join only when SEC re-tenders it, likely around 22 January 2030.
Buyer Benefits
Buyers get accredited contractors for systems that must work when needed, with testing and certification built in so compliance records are easy to evidence. One lot covering installation, maintenance and repairs lets them manage a whole estate's active fire protection through one route.
Next Steps
Appointed contractors should show SEC members how quickly they respond to faults and how they report test results. Others have time before the re-tender around January 2030: build accredited installation and maintenance case studies in housing and public buildings, and look for other fire protection frameworks or dynamic markets that are open now.
How Athena Can Help
With call-offs decided by direct award or mini-competition, active fire protection contractors on SEC's lot need answers that prove reliability. Athena's bid writing for contractors builds them around response times, accreditation and testing records.
If you are not on the lot, our framework and dynamic market applications service finds fire safety routes open now and prepares the submissions, and our bid for the bid support gets you organised early for the 2030 re-tender.
