Heating & Water Hygiene Framework - Lot 5 - Water Hygiene Remedial Works

Live

Framework Description

Water Hygiene Remedial Repairs is Lot 5 of South East Consortium's Heating & Water Hygiene framework, covering water hygiene repairs to domestic and commercial properties. Appointed contractors carry out cistern and system disinfection, cistern replacement, storage tank relining, foam and foil-faced insulation, and valve, stopcock and pipework renewals. The framework was awarded on 9 January 2024 and runs until 8 January 2028 with no extension. It is not a DPS.

Context & Use Case

Housing, healthcare and education providers and other publicly funded bodies use it when water hygiene risk assessments or monitoring identify defects that need fixing. Rather than tendering each remedial job, buyers can direct award or run a mini-tender or further competition, and can ask SEC to administer the award for them.

Scope of Services

Who Can Apply

Suits water hygiene contractors with remedial experience in domestic and commercial properties. Applications for this framework are closed, so contractors not appointed cannot join until it is re-tendered, which is likely around 8 January 2028.

Buyer Benefits

Remedial work flagged in a risk assessment needs doing quickly to keep legionella risk under control. A pre-vetted lot lets buyers instruct competent contractors without delay and close actions from the assessment. Contractors were assessed on commercial stability, supply chain management and managing the golden thread of data, which gives buyers confidence in their records.

Next Steps

If you are on the lot, respond quickly to remedials and give buyers clear completion records for their compliance files. If not, prepare for the re-tender likely around January 2028. The last tender weighted quality at 70% and cost at 30%, so build evidence on commercial stability, supply chain management, collaborative contracting and data management, plus relining, disinfection and cistern case studies.

How Athena Can Help

Remedial lots are often won by contractors who show fast mobilisation and clean compliance records. Athena's response writing and review helps appointed contractors present both well in call-offs, with win themes built on response times and completion evidence.

If you are aiming for the re-tender, our framework registration specialists prepare the application and supporting documents, and our advice on compliant public sector bids keeps your submission within the rules and scoring well.
