Lifts Framework

Live

Framework Description

South East Consortium's Lifts Framework covers servicing, maintenance, repairs and installation of passenger lifts in public sector buildings. Eight approved suppliers are appointed, and buyers call off through direct award or mini-competition. The framework is not a DPS and runs until 11 February 2027, so a replacement procurement is likely to be in preparation.

Context & Use Case

Housing providers, schools, hospitals and other public bodies with passenger lifts use it to keep them running safely, through planned maintenance contracts, breakdown repairs and new or replacement installations. Where one lift serves the upper floors of a building, downtime affects residents directly, so buyers want contractors who respond quickly and keep equipment reliable.

Who Can Apply

Suits lift engineering companies that service, repair and install passenger lifts. Applications for the eight-supplier panel are closed, so firms not appointed cannot join this framework. With an end date of 11 February 2027, a re-tender is likely soon; check SEC's frameworks page for timing.

Buyer Benefits

Lifts are safety-critical and expensive when they fail, so buyers value a panel of competent engineers they can appoint directly or compete on price. A panel of eight keeps competition meaningful while giving buyers a real choice of contractor for each building.

Next Steps

With the framework ending on 11 February 2027, lift companies should watch South East Consortium's frameworks page for the successor procurement now. Prepare maintenance portfolio data, response time performance, installation case studies, health and safety records and accounts, so you can respond within the tender window.
