Framework Description
SUPC's Veterinary Supplies framework covers pharmaceuticals, consumables, equipment and software for universities with veterinary schools and animal facilities. It is split into eight lots, with separate lots for veterinary medicines from manufacturers and from wholesalers. The agreement started on 10 February 2024 and ends on 9 February 2027, with no extension; applications are closed (it is not a DPS).
Context & Use Case
Veterinary teaching hospitals, farm and equine teaching units and research animal facilities use it for regulated medicines, everyday consumables and capital equipment such as imaging systems. Separate lots for large-animal equipment, general equipment and veterinary software let buyers source each requirement from a specialist rather than relying on one generalist supplier.

Who Can Apply
Suits veterinary pharmaceutical manufacturers and licensed wholesalers, consumables distributors, equipment and imaging specialists, and veterinary software providers. Applications for this framework are closed and it ends on 9 February 2027, so suppliers that are not appointed should prepare for SUPC's replacement rather than expect to join.
Buyer Benefits
Veterinary schools must buy medicines through properly licensed channels and keep clinical teaching running without stock gaps. One agreement with specialist lots gives them compliant supply routes for prescription products, dependable equipment support and software that fits a teaching hospital, without tendering each category themselves.
Next Steps
With 9 February 2027 under four months away, SUPC's replacement could appear soon. Check the framework page (https://www.supc.ac.uk/frameworks/18835/) and Find a Tender, choose the lot or lots that match your licences and catalogue, and gather Veterinary Medicines Directorate authorisations, cold-chain distribution evidence and references from veterinary schools or practices.
How Athena Can Help
Eight lots means choosing carefully where to bid. Athena's public sector bidding consultants help you decide whether to compete as a manufacturer, wholesaler or equipment specialist, and our framework application team gathers licences, policies and case studies before the replacement tender opens.
For the response itself, our tender response team writes answers on supply resilience, product support and clinical training, and models catalogue pricing lot by lot so you price to win.
