Swindon Working Age Adult Residential Care Home Framework

Coming soon

Framework Description

The Swindon Working Age Adult Residential Care Home Framework is a forthcoming framework, closed to new applications once awarded, from NHS Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board (BSW ICB). It will be used to buy residential care home placements in Swindon for working age adults whose needs cannot be met in the community, particularly people with learning disabilities and complex support needs.

Context & Use Case

Commissioners will use it to place adults of working age who need residential care, typically people with learning disabilities and multiple or complex needs where community-based support is not suitable. An approved list of homes gives commissioners somewhere to turn when a placement is needed, rather than spot-purchasing each one. For providers, being on that list is what puts a home in front of commissioners when referrals arise.

Who Can Apply

Suited to CQC-registered care home providers that support working age adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, and that can offer placements for Swindon. The framework is at the pre-tender stage, so providers should prepare to bid when it is advertised. As applications close after this round, homes that miss it may have to wait until it is re-let.

Buyer Benefits

Commissioners get a pool of vetted homes that already meet quality, safeguarding and pricing requirements, which helps them make placements quickly when someone's needs change or a community arrangement breaks down. Agreed terms make costs easier to forecast for a high-cost group of placements, and give a consistent basis for monitoring quality across homes.

Next Steps

Follow the tender listing linked from this page and watch for the formal notice and documents. In the meantime, make sure your CQC registration, latest inspection rating, safeguarding policies and staff training records are current. Prepare case studies showing outcomes for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, and check your fee levels against your true cost of care before you price.

How Athena Can Help

Care framework tenders score heavily on quality, so answers on safeguarding, person-centred planning and outcomes need to be backed by evidence. Athena's bid writers can draft and compliance-check those responses, and help set fee rates that cover your costs.

We can start now with early bid planning so you are ready the day the tender opens. Our framework application support can also point you to other adult social care frameworks and DPSs that commissioners use.
