Framework Description
Fire Doors (FD9) is LHC Procurement Group's successor to its C8 framework for doorsets, fire doors and communal entrance doors. It is being procured for use across LHC's regional business units, including SWPA in South West England. The planned term ends on 30 April 2030. FD9 is at procurement stage, so the supplier panel for that term is being chosen now.
Context & Use Case
Housing providers and other public bodies will use FD9 to replace and maintain fire-resisting doorsets and communal entrance doors in residential, communal and mixed-use buildings, supporting building safety remediation and planned replacement. Buyers will be able to source a single door type or an access control system, or combine supply, installation and repairs and maintenance in one programme.
Scope of Services
Composite doors Composite fire doors Timber doors Timber fire doors Metallic doors Access control systems Repairs and maintenance
Lots
Composite Doors; Composite Fire Doors; Timber Doors; Timber Fire Doors; Metallic Doors; Access Control Systems; Repairs and Maintenance
Who Can Apply
Fire door manufacturers, fabricators, installers and contractors with third-party fire certification and proven installation competence. FD9 will not accept new applications once awarded, so this procurement is the only way onto it for its term. Check the framework page to confirm whether submissions are still open.
Buyer Benefits
Fire door safety is under close scrutiny for landlords, and FD9 gives them a pre-tendered route to certified products and competent installers. Seven lots let buyers source composite, timber or metallic doorsets, access control and repairs separately or together, and use the same framework for remediation and planned replacement.
Next Steps
Check the SWPA frameworks page and LHC Procurement Group's In-tend portal for FD9's current stage and any contract or award notice. If the tender is open, prioritise certification evidence, installation competence and social value. If it has closed, note the 30 April 2030 end date and look for other door and fire safety routes in the meantime.
How Athena Can Help
FD9 bids will turn on fire certification evidence and installer competence. Athena's bid management support plans the submission, writes technical and social value responses to the evaluation criteria, and runs a Bid Health Check before it goes in.
Our public sector bidding expertise covers bid/no-bid decisions on which lots to enter and pricing that holds margin, and our framework registration specialists can line up other door and fire safety routes to apply for alongside FD9.
