Low Carbon Offsite Housing Construction (LCH)

Live

Framework Description

The Low Carbon Offsite Housing Construction (LCH) DPS is run by the South West Procurement Alliance and was originally created in partnership with Constructing Modern Methods and the Housing Festival. It gives public bodies in the South West access to suppliers building low carbon homes using modern methods of construction. Lots are set by scheme size, from one or two homes to 50-plus, and the DPS has no maximum time limit.

Context & Use Case

Councils and housing providers use LCH for affordable housing schemes, infill sites and larger low carbon developments delivered with offsite systems, including 2D and 3D approaches. Every call-off is a further competition, with no direct award, and buyers can apply their own terms, pricing structure and specification, which suits authorities with established development standards.

Who Can Apply

Suits offsite manufacturers and contractors delivering low carbon homes, including smaller firms suited to micro and small schemes. As a DPS with no maximum time limit, it accepts applications now through the LHC In-tend portal; applicants must show low carbon credentials and capacity at the lot size they choose.

Buyer Benefits

Small sites and infill plots can be hard to procure through large frameworks, so a lot for one or two homes matters to buyers. They also want proven low carbon performance and the freedom to use their own contracts and specifications, while drawing on offsite innovators as they enter the market.

Next Steps

Read SWPA's LCH page, register on LHC's In-tend portal and apply for the lot sizes you can deliver. Prepare energy performance and embodied carbon data for your system, factory and site quality procedures, warranties and completed housing case studies, ready to adapt for each further competition.

How Athena Can Help

LCH is open now, and Athena can make the application straightforward. Our DPS application specialists pick the right lot sizes for your factory capacity, answer the selection questions and check the submission before it goes into In-tend.

Because every scheme is a further competition, our housing bid writers turn your low carbon performance into win themes using our F.V.D. model, and our public sector bid strategy helps you price schemes against each authority's own specification.
