Windows, Doors, and Doorsets (WD3)

Coming soon

Framework Description

Windows, Doors and Doorsets (WD3) is LHC Procurement Group's successor to its WD2 windows and doors framework, being procured for use across LHC's regional business units including SWPA in South West England. It keeps the WD2 model of design, supply and installation, with tougher specifications, updated regulatory requirements and stronger competency criteria for suppliers.

Context & Use Case

Housing providers, councils, schools and health bodies will use WD3 for window and door replacement programmes in social housing and public buildings, and for new build projects. Because it covers residential, communal and entrance doors as well as windows, buyers will be able to procure a whole-building fenestration package through one route.

Scope of Services

Design, supply and installation of windows Residential doors Communal doors and entrance doors Associated products and ironmongery Refurbishment and new build applications

Who Can Apply

Window and door manufacturers, fabricators, installers and principal contractors with the right product certification. WD3 is at procurement stage and will not accept new applications once awarded, so bidding in this tender is the only way onto it for its term. Expect the competency criteria to be stricter than under WD2.

Buyer Benefits

Higher specifications and competency requirements than WD2 give landlords more assurance on product performance and installation quality, which matters for doors with a fire safety function. One framework for windows, residential, communal and entrance doors simplifies planned investment programmes and reduces the number of contractors on site.

Next Steps

Watch LHC Procurement Group's In-tend portal for the WD3 tender notice, and the SWPA frameworks page for launch news. Before it opens, update product certification, installer competency records and case studies from WD2 or similar programmes, and decide which product areas you can evidence fully.

How Athena Can Help

WD3's tougher competency criteria will reward suppliers who prepare early. Athena's early bid planning works out what the tender is likely to test and builds your evidence before the notice lands.

When it opens, our bid writing service drafts the technical and social value answers and runs a Bid Health Check before submission. Our frameworks pipeline planning also covers other window and door routes you can apply to in the meantime.
