Alternative Fuelled Vehicles DPS - 1066

Live

Framework Description

YPO's Alternative Fuelled Vehicles DPS (reference 1066) is a Dynamic Purchasing System for public bodies replacing diesel fleets with lower-emission vehicles. It has 15 lots, from refuse collection vehicles, gully emptiers and fire appliances to e-bikes, car clubs and drivetrain conversion. All extension options have been used, so the DPS runs to a fixed end date of 23 February 2029.

Context & Use Case

Councils, fire and rescue services, transport authorities and other public bodies use it to buy specialist vehicles as they move to cleaner fleets. Because it is a DPS, each purchase is run as a competition among the suppliers admitted to the relevant lot, so a buyer replacing a gritter fleet only invites winter maintenance vehicle suppliers.

Who Can Apply

Manufacturers, dealers, bodybuilders, converters and micromobility or car club operators that supply alternative fuelled vehicles. As a live DPS, it accepts applications from new suppliers, so firms can apply now for the lots they can genuinely supply rather than waiting for a re-tender.

Buyer Benefits

Fleet managers can run a quick, lot-specific competition for high-value assets such as refuse vehicles or aerial appliances without advertising a full tender. A single route covers both heavy fleet and light mobility schemes, and suppliers have already passed YPO's selection checks, which cuts the risk on long-lead vehicle orders.

Next Steps

Open the 1066 page on YPO's website and follow its link to the application. Pick lots that match vehicles you can deliver, and gather model specifications, emissions and range data, lead times, and aftersales and warranty terms. Apply well before 23 February 2029, since there are no extensions left and the DPS will close then.

How Athena Can Help

With 15 lots, choosing where to apply is the first decision. Athena's DPS admission support maps your vehicle range to the right lots, writes the application and checks it for compliance before you submit.

Once admitted, every order is a competition. Our bid and pricing team builds whole-life cost models and win themes around range, charging and aftersales support. Our advice on fleet tenders helps you decide which invitations justify the effort, given your build slots and lead times.
