Framework Description
YPO's Community, Healthcare Technology Equipment and Associated Services framework (reference 1284) renews Health and Social Care Equipment and Associated Services (1061). It will cover equipment that helps people stay independent at home or in care settings, together with maintenance and servicing. YPO expects it to go live in January 2027 and lists a term running to 21 March 2031, with no extension.
Context & Use Case
Adaptations teams, equipment stores, and procurement and commissioning staff in public bodies will use it to supply equipment for people living at home or in care settings, and to keep that equipment safely serviced. Buyers will be able to award without competition or run a competitive selection process, depending on the lot, and YPO can run a competitive selection on a buyer's behalf.

Who Can Apply
Suits manufacturers and distributors of community and healthcare equipment, and firms that maintain and service it. As a new framework that YPO lists as coming soon, it can only be joined through this procurement. Check YPO's framework page for the tender stage, and prepare your bid now if it is still open.
Buyer Benefits
Buyers can arrange both equipment and its upkeep through one route, which matters where safety checks keep service users safe. Award without competition gives a quick route using a customer pricing schedule, while a competitive selection lets buyers vary terms, with supplier agreement, for larger contracts. Suppliers are prequalified for general suitability.
Next Steps
Check YPO's 1284 page and contact its social care category team to confirm where the procurement stands. If the tender is open, map your products and servicing to the lots and gather product standards, servicing records, delivery coverage and local authority or NHS references. If you already supply through 1061, use that delivery record as evidence in your bid.
How Athena Can Help
With 1284 due to go live in 2027, Athena's bid managers for health equipment can plan your response, write answers on product quality, servicing and delivery to the evaluation criteria, and price each lot to win.
If this round has closed, our health and care framework pipeline points to other equipment routes that are open or due to open, with a plan for the evidence each will need. Our NHS and council bid advice helps you decide which opportunities are worth bidding for in the meantime.
