Framework Description
YPO's Fire Safety Equipment and Associated Services framework (reference 1183) will cover the supply and servicing of fire extinguishers, fire detection and alarm systems, alarm monitoring, sprinkler systems and fire risk assessments. YPO lists it as coming soon, with a planned term to 31 July 2030 and no extension option. Its proposed structure has five lots, from supply-only equipment to multi-lot call-offs.
Context & Use Case
Schools, housing providers, councils and other public estate owners will use it to meet fire safety duties. A school might buy extinguishers through the supply-only lot, while a housing provider might appoint one firm to supply and service equipment, or commission fire risk assessments across its stock. The multi-lot call-off lot will let buyers combine several lots in one award.
Scope of Services
Lot 1: Active fire safety equipment (supply only) Lot 2: Service, maintenance and refurbishment of active fire safety equipment Lot 3: Supply, servicing, maintenance and refurbishment combined Lot 4: Fire risk assessments and fire safety surveys Lot 5: Multi-lot call-offs for active fire safety
Lots
Lot 1 - Active Fire Safety Equipment - Supply Only; Lot 2 - Service, Maintenance & Refurbishment of Active Fire Safety Equipment; Lot 3 - Supply, Servicing/Maintenance & Refurbishment of Active Fire Safety Equipment - Combined; Lot 4 - Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Safety Surveys; Lot 5 - Multi-Lot Call-offs for Active Fire Safety
Who Can Apply
Suits fire safety equipment suppliers, servicing and maintenance firms, alarm and sprinkler specialists, and fire risk assessors. As a new framework that YPO lists as coming soon, it can only be joined through this procurement, so suppliers should check YPO's framework page for the tender and prepare their bid now.
Buyer Benefits
Separate lots for supply, servicing, combined supply and service, and risk assessment let buyers match the contract to how they manage fire safety. The multi-lot option suits large estates that want one supplier for equipment, servicing and assessments, and a national framework gives schools and councils a ready route without running their own tender.
Next Steps
Check YPO's 1183 page and contact its facilities and waste management category team to confirm the tender timetable. Decide which of the five lots fit your service, then gather evidence now: BAFE or equivalent accreditations, servicing schedules, response times, risk assessor qualifications, pricing per asset and public sector references. Plan the bid so it is ready when the tender opens.
How Athena Can Help
With 1183 still to be tendered, now is the time to plan. Athena's fire safety bid planning maps your services to the five lots, builds win themes around response times and servicing quality, and runs a Bid Health Check before submission.
Our bid/no-bid reviews help you decide whether to bid for single lots or the combined and multi-lot options, and how to price them. Meanwhile, our framework registration planning identifies other fire safety routes open now, so you are not relying on one tender.
