Framework Description
YPO's Low Energy Lighting Systems DPS (1087) is a Dynamic Purchasing System for contractors who design, supply, install, commission and maintain low energy lighting. It covers internal and external energy-efficient fittings and emergency lighting in a single lot. The DPS runs until 23 February 2029, with no extension, and suppliers can apply to join at any time before then.
Context & Use Case
Estates teams in local authorities, schools and other public bodies use 1087 for energy-efficient lighting upgrades and replacements in their buildings, from classroom lighting to building-mounted external lamps. Each requirement goes out to competition among admitted suppliers, and YPO frameworks can be used by UK public bodies without membership.
Scope of Services
Lot 1: Low energy lighting systems (design, supply, fit and/or maintenance) Internal energy-efficient lighting External, building-mounted energy-efficient lamps and fittings Emergency lighting Commissioning of installed systems
Lots
Lot 1 - Low energy lighting systems (design, supply, fit and/or maintenance, including emergency lighting)
Who Can Apply
Lighting contractors, electrical installers and maintenance firms working on public buildings can apply now. As there is only one lot, applicants show they can deliver some or all of design, supply, fitting and maintenance, and must meet YPO's selection criteria on capability and compliance.
Buyer Benefits
Lighting upgrades cut energy bills and carbon emissions, so estates teams want them delivered quickly. A DPS gives buyers a ready pool of assessed contractors for each project, and because new suppliers can join at any time, local firms can be included in competitions alongside national ones.
Next Steps
Read the DPS documents on YPO's page (https://www.ypo.co.uk/frameworks-home/900611), then apply through YPO's tendering portal with evidence of lighting design, installation and emergency lighting work. Once admitted, respond promptly to competitions and keep case studies with energy savings ready. Applications must be in before the DPS closes on 23 February 2029.
