Tyres for Motor Vehicles, Plant and Related Services - 1227

Live

Framework Description

YPO's Tyres for Motor Vehicles, Plant and Related Services framework (1227) supports authorities buying tyres, tubes, casings and refurbishment for cars, refuse collection vehicles and commercial and agricultural vehicles, along with fleet support and fully managed tyre services. It has seven lots. Applications for this framework are closed; it started on 6 August 2024 and runs until 5 August 2028, with no extension.

Context & Use Case

Local authority, blue light and other public sector fleet operators use 1227 for supply-and-fit tyre services across cars and vans, HGVs and agricultural or industrial vehicles. One-stop-shop lots, including one for blue light fleets, let a buyer source all its tyre needs from one supplier, and a dedicated lot is reserved for Wakefield Council's own requirements.

Who Can Apply

Tyre distributors, mobile fitting firms, one-stop-shop providers and wheel safety system suppliers fit the lots. Applications for this framework are closed, so others cannot join until it is re-tendered, likely ahead of 5 August 2028.

Buyer Benefits

Emergency and frontline vehicles cannot be off the road waiting for tyres, so buyers value wide supply-and-fit coverage and fast response. One-stop-shop lots reduce the number of suppliers a fleet manager deals with, and wheel and tyre safety systems help prevent failures that put drivers and the public at risk.

Next Steps

Appointed suppliers should prepare for call-offs with evidence of fitting coverage, response times and blue light service levels. Others should review YPO's 1227 page, decide which lots they could win, and build fleet references and safety-system credentials before the re-procurement expected ahead of 5 August 2028.
